About Dekuz

Dekuz is a free website that gathers 110 small online tools in one place: calculators for money and everyday maths, unit converters, text utilities, developer helpers, generators, and date and time tools. It went online in August 2026. The idea behind it is simple. Many of the questions people type into a search engine every day are really small calculations, such as what a loan payment will be, how many grams are in a tola, how many days remain until a deadline, or how many words are in an essay. The answer should take a few seconds, not a few clicks through sign-up forms, pop-ups and download links.

Why Dekuz exists

A lot of tool websites bury the actual tool under banners, newsletters and long walls of text that exist only to fill space. Dekuz tries to do the opposite. Each tool has its own page, the tool sits at the top so you can use it immediately, and the explanation sits below it for the times you want to understand the result: what the tool does, the formula or method behind it, the steps to use it, a worked example, and answers to the questions people actually ask about that topic.

A second reason is regional. Many international calculator sites ignore units and customs that are part of everyday life in South Asia. That is why, next to the standard converters and calculators, you will find a Zakat calculator, a tola to gram converter, a ser to kilogram converter and a Pakistan land area converter for marla, kanal, square feet, gaz and acre. These tools exist because real people search for them, not to make the tool list look longer.

What you will find here

Tools are grouped into categories so that related utilities sit together. You can browse every tool on the All Tools page, or go straight to a category:

Finance tools cover loan EMI, mortgage, compound and simple interest, savings goals, break-even, profit margin, VAT, sales tax and tip calculations. Converter tools handle length, weight, temperature, area, volume, speed, pressure, energy, data storage and cooking measurements. Text tools include a word counter, a case converter, a duplicate line remover and a text diff checker. Developer tools include a JSON formatter, Base64 and URL encoders, a Unix timestamp converter and a colour picker. Generators include a password generator, a UUID generator and a Lorem Ipsum generator. Date and time tools include an age calculator, a date difference calculator, a business days calculator, a countdown timer and a Pomodoro timer. The calculators category adds percentage, average, fraction, GCD, LCM and prime number tools, among others.

How the tools are built

Dekuz runs on WordPress with a custom theme written for this site. The tools themselves are written in plain JavaScript without a large framework, which keeps pages light and fast. When you type numbers or text into a tool, the calculation happens inside your own browser. The tool does not send what you typed to our servers, and the tools do not set cookies or save your input in your browser storage. The QR code generator uses an open-source library (qrcodejs, released under the MIT licence) that is stored on the same server as the rest of the theme, so it does not call an outside service either. Copy buttons use your browser clipboard feature only after you press them.

You do not need an account to use anything on the site. There is nothing to install, and the pages are designed to work on phones as well as on desktop screens.

How we check accuracy

Every tool is based on a published or widely accepted definition rather than on a guess. A few examples: one inch is exactly 2.54 centimetres; loan payments use the standard reducing-balance amortisation formula; body mass index is weight in kilograms divided by height in metres squared, with the adult categories published by the World Health Organization; week numbers follow the ISO 8601 rule that a week belongs to the year that contains its Thursday. Before a tool goes live we test its logic against worked examples, including awkward cases such as zero, negative numbers, empty fields, month ends and leap years.

Each tool page also shows its formula and a worked example, so you can repeat the calculation by hand and see that the result is reasonable. Where a result depends on an assumption that varies between countries, banks, schools or traditions, such as a tax rate, a grading scale or the exact weight of a regional unit, the page says so instead of hiding it. We do not claim to be perfect. If you find a mistake, please tell us and we will check it and correct it.

What Dekuz does not do

It helps to be clear about the limits. The tools do not fetch live exchange rates, share prices or gold prices, so any rate you need must be typed in by you. They do not store your calculations or build a profile about you. They do not replace a bank, an accountant, a doctor, a lawyer or a qualified religious scholar. A calculator can apply a formula correctly to the numbers you give it, but it cannot know the terms of your loan, your medical history or the ruling that applies to your situation. The Disclaimer explains this in more detail.

Independence and advertising

Dekuz is free to use. To pay for hosting and for the time it takes to build and maintain the tools, the site may show advertising, including advertising served by Google AdSense. Advertising never changes the result of a calculation, and nobody pays us to alter a result or to recommend a particular financial product, bank or service. At the time of writing, the tool pages contain no affiliate links and no sponsored recommendations. How advertising cookies work, and how you can switch off personalised ads, is explained in the Privacy Policy.

How the site is maintained

Dekuz is a young site and it is still being improved. We prefer a smaller number of tools that are explained properly over a very large number of thin pages. Before adding a new tool we ask three questions: does it answer a question people really have, can we explain the method honestly in plain language, and can we test it properly? Existing pages are revised when we find a clearer way to explain something, when a reader points out an error, or when a rule or definition changes. Tool requests from visitors are welcome, and ideas that come up repeatedly are the ones most likely to be built next.

Accessibility and device support

The site is built to work in current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on both phones and computers. Form fields have labels, pages use headings in a logical order, and the tools can be used with a keyboard. If something on the site is hard to use with your device or assistive technology, please let us know through the Contact page so that we can improve it.

How a tool page is organised

Every tool page follows the same pattern so that you always know where to look. The tool itself is at the top. Below it you will find a short explanation of what the tool does and who uses it, the formula or method written out in plain language, step-by-step instructions, a worked example with real numbers, notes on common mistakes, and a list of frequently asked questions. Longer guides on the page cover background ideas, such as the difference between markup and margin or between a calendar day and a business day. If you only need a number, you can ignore everything under the tool. If you want to understand or double-check the number, the explanation is there.

Who Dekuz is for

The site is written for students who want to check homework, shop owners who need a quick margin or VAT figure, freelancers who track hours and invoices, developers who need a fast encoder or formatter, home cooks who meet American measurements, and families in South Asia who deal with marla, tola and ser every week. It is also for anyone who is simply curious about how a result is worked out. We try to write for an ordinary reader, so a term is explained the first time it appears and an example follows every method.

Feedback shapes the site

Most improvements come from messages that visitors send. A question about why a result looks different from a bank statement, for example, is the kind of message that leads to a clearer note on the page. If a tool saves you time, or if an explanation was confusing, please say so. Specific comments are the most useful, because they show us exactly which sentence or example to improve.

Where to go next

If you are new here, the quickest way in is the All Tools page. If you want to know how your information is handled, read the Privacy Policy. The rules for using the site are in the Terms of Use, and if you have a question, a correction or an idea for a tool, the Contact page tells you how to reach us. Thank you for using Dekuz.
