Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit Dekuz (the website at dekuz.com), how that information is used, who it may be shared with, and what choices you have. We have tried to write it in plain language. If anything is unclear, please ask through the Contact page.

The short version

The calculators, converters and other tools run inside your browser, and the values you type into them are not sent to our servers. You do not need an account. The website, like nearly every website, receives basic technical information when a page is requested. The site may show advertising, and advertising partners such as Google may use cookies to decide which ads to show. You can control that, as explained below.

Information the tools do not collect

When you use a tool on Dekuz, the calculation is carried out by JavaScript running on your own device. The numbers, text, dates, files or passwords you enter are not transmitted to us by the tool, are not stored on our servers, and are not saved in cookies or in your browser storage. When you close or reload the page, the entries are gone. We do not ask you to give your name, phone number or any other personal detail to use a tool.

Information collected automatically

When you open a page, your browser sends a request to our web server. As with almost every website, the hosting provider and the network that delivers the pages may automatically record technical details of that request, such as your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, your browser type and version, your operating system and the type of device. This information is used to deliver the website to you, to keep it secure, to find and fix errors, and to detect and block abuse. Server logs are kept by the hosting provider for a limited time.

Information you send us

If you write to us by email, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you put in the message. We use that information only to read your message, reply to it, investigate a problem you report and improve the website. We do not add you to a mailing list or use your address for marketing. Messages are kept for as long as they are needed for those purposes, or as long as the law requires, and are then deleted.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Three kinds may be relevant to Dekuz. First, essential cookies that WordPress or a security feature may set so that the site functions properly. Second, advertising cookies, which are set by advertising partners when ads are shown, described in the next section. Third, analytics cookies, which are set only if we enable an analytics service, described further below. The Dekuz tools themselves do not set cookies. You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop the tools from working, although it may affect which ads you see and how they are chosen.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Dekuz may display advertisements served by Google AdSense and by other third-party advertising partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a person’s previous visits to this website and to other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and to other sites on the internet. These companies may collect information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and your interaction with ads, and they handle that information under their own privacy policies, not ours.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of some other vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. To read how Google uses data when you use sites that run its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Where the law requires your consent for cookies or personalised advertising, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalised advertising is only shown if you give consent through the consent message displayed on the site. Advertising partners may also show non-personalised ads, which rely on the content of the page and your general location, not on your browsing history. We do not control the cookies that advertising partners set.

Analytics

We may use an analytics service to understand, in aggregate, how people use the website: which tools are popular, which pages load slowly and which search terms bring people to the site. If analytics are enabled, the service may use cookies or similar technologies and may collect information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type and referring website. We do not use analytics to identify you personally, and we will update this policy if we add or change such a service.

How we use information, and our legal bases

We use the limited information described above to operate and secure the website, to answer messages, to understand how the site is used so that we can improve it, and to show advertising that helps pay for hosting and development. If you are in a region covered by the GDPR or similar laws, our legal bases are our legitimate interest in running and securing a website, your consent where the law requires it for non-essential cookies and personalised advertising, and, where relevant, taking steps in response to your request when you contact us.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information that we collect directly, and we do not rent or trade it. Information may be handled by service providers that help us run the website, such as our web hosting provider, the content delivery and security services that sit in front of it, and, if enabled, an analytics provider. Advertising partners receive information through the cookies and tags described above. We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect the rights, safety and security of the website and its visitors. Some providers operate in other countries, so information may be processed outside the country where you live.

Links to other websites

Pages on Dekuz may link to other websites, for example to official sources or to the privacy tools mentioned in this policy. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Children

Dekuz is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy of it, and to withdraw consent that you have given. Residents of some US states have similar rights, including the right to opt out of the sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. Because the tools do not collect what you enter, the information we hold is usually limited to emails you have sent us. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to respond within 30 days.

Security and retention

We take reasonable steps to protect the website and the limited information we receive, including serving pages over an encrypted HTTPS connection and keeping the software up to date. No method of transmission or storage on the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We keep information only for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, or as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we add a service or when the law changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the website. Using the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
