Disclaimer

Last updated: October 7, 2026

Dekuz tools and content are provided for general information and convenience only. Every result is an estimate produced by applying a standard formula or definition to the values you enter. Results can be affected by assumptions, rounding, input mistakes, and differences in local rules, standards and definitions. This Disclaimer explains the main limits so that you can decide how far to rely on a result.

Not professional advice

Nothing on this website is financial, tax, investment, accounting, medical, legal, religious, engineering or other professional advice, and no professional relationship is created by using it. A calculator can apply a formula correctly to the numbers you give it, but it cannot know your full circumstances. Please verify important decisions using authoritative sources and, where it matters, speak to a qualified professional.

Financial, tax and business tools

Loan EMI, car loan, mortgage, compound interest, simple interest, savings goal, investment return, break-even, profit margin, markup, commission, salary, VAT, sales tax and similar tools give estimates. Real loan payments depend on the exact terms in your contract: the way interest is calculated, processing fees, insurance, late charges, rate changes and rounding rules. The mortgage tool estimates principal and interest only and does not include property tax, insurance or similar costs. Compound interest and investment tools do not predict future returns, which can be lower or higher than any figure shown, and which may be reduced by fees, taxes and inflation. VAT and sales tax rates vary by country, region and product, so the rate you enter must come from an official source. Please confirm figures with your bank, lender, accountant or tax authority before you commit money or file a return.

Health and fitness tools

Tools such as the BMI calculator provide general reference information. They do not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition. BMI does not distinguish between muscle and fat, and it does not account for age, sex, ethnicity or medical history, so it can misjudge athletes, older adults and children. Adult categories do not apply to people under 18. If you have a concern about your health or weight, please speak to a doctor or another qualified health professional.

Religious calculations

The Zakat calculator applies a commonly used method to the amounts and prices that you provide. Scholars and schools of thought differ on some details, such as which assets count, how debts are treated and whether gold or silver sets the threshold, and market prices change. The calculator does not issue a religious ruling. Please consult a qualified scholar or a trusted religious authority for a ruling that applies to your own situation.

Education tools

The GPA calculator uses a common 4.0 scale. Schools and universities use different scales, credit rules and rounding policies, and some weight honours or advanced courses differently. Your official transcript or registrar is the only authoritative source for your grade point average.

Converters and regional units

Unit converters use standard conversion factors and round results for display. Some units have more than one definition. A US gallon and an imperial gallon are different volumes. A cup in a US recipe is not the same as a metric cup. Traditional South Asian units such as the tola, ser, maund, marla and kanal have been defined differently over time and between regions, and the values used on Dekuz are common modern values, not legal or surveying definitions. For land records, property sales, jewellery or any trade where the exact quantity matters, use the definition written in your document or the one set by the relevant authority.

Currency, prices and rates

Dekuz does not fetch live exchange rates, gold or silver prices, interest rates or tax rates. When a tool needs one of these figures, you type it in, and the result is only as current and as accurate as the number you used. Rates change daily, and the rate that a bank, exchange or jeweller actually gives you usually includes a margin or fee that a simple calculator cannot see.

Date and time tools

Date calculators work with calendar dates and handle leap years, but they do not know public holidays, company calendars or local rules about how deadlines are counted. The business days calculator excludes Saturdays and Sundays only. The time zone tool converts between fixed offsets and does not apply daylight saving changes for you. Week numbers follow the ISO 8601 rule. Always check legal and contractual deadlines against the exact wording of the document and the rules of the place that applies.

Text, developer and security tools

Text and developer tools are provided as conveniences. Please check their output before using it in production systems or published work. Base64 is an encoding, not encryption, and it does not protect information. The Caesar cipher is a historical teaching tool that is trivial to break and must not be used to protect anything sensitive. The password generator and the UUID generator use your browser’s cryptographic random number source, but you are responsible for storing and using what they produce safely. The random name picker uses a simple random function that is fine for classroom or casual draws, but it is not suitable for lotteries, legal prize draws or any use that needs auditable or cryptographic randomness. Please test QR codes with more than one scanner before printing them.

Examples on tool pages

The worked examples on tool pages use sample numbers chosen to show how a calculation works. They are not recommendations, forecasts or advice about any particular loan, investment, diet, purchase or decision, and the figures in them should not be treated as typical or current.

Accuracy and updates

We work to keep the tools and explanations accurate and current, and we test the logic with worked examples, but we do not promise that they are free of errors or omissions, or that they reflect the latest change in a law, rate or standard. If you find a problem, please tell us through the Contact page and we will look into it.

External links and advertising

The website may show advertisements and may link to other websites. These are provided for convenience and are not recommendations. We do not control third-party sites or advertisers, and we are not responsible for their content or for any purchase or agreement you make with them. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising works on this site.

Limitation of liability and use at your own risk

You use the website, and rely on any result, at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dekuz and its owner are not responsible for any loss or damage that results from using or relying on the tools or content, or from errors, interruptions or inaccuracies. Nothing in this Disclaimer limits any right that you have by law and that cannot be limited. This Disclaimer should be read together with the Terms of Use.

Using results responsibly

A sensible approach is to treat every result as a starting point. First, check that you entered the right numbers and units. Second, estimate the answer roughly in your head to see whether it is reasonable. Third, read the notes on the tool page, which list the assumptions behind the formula. Fourth, if money, health, legal rights, religious duties or safety depend on the result, compare it with an official document, a professional or the organisation that is responsible for the rule. Following these four steps takes a minute and removes most of the risk of relying on a wrong figure.

Rounding and precision

Results are rounded for display, usually to two or four decimal places, while the calculation may keep more digits internally. A rounded figure can differ in the last digit from a figure that another system produces, for example a bank that rounds every monthly instalment. Such small differences do not mean either figure is wrong. When exact legal or accounting precision is needed, use the method and rounding rules that your institution requires.

Who to ask for professional help

For loans, tax and investments, speak to a licensed financial adviser, an accountant or your bank. For health matters, ask a doctor, nurse or dietitian. For legal questions, consult a lawyer. For religious matters such as Zakat, ask a qualified scholar. For engineering, construction or safety work, follow the specification and the advice of a qualified engineer. Dekuz does not replace any of them, and nothing on the site creates a professional relationship between you and us.
